.22 Hornet--At last!

Recommended Posts

It's been a struggle, but today I managed to get what I wanted from my Hornet--.5 MOA.

The bad weather has delayed things, but today I managed to get out and go through the last of the different loads I've made up since buying the gear.

The winning round, surprisingly, was 40gn Hornady V-Max bullet with 10.3 gns of LilGun, RWS brass, Remington pistol primers and a crimp.

It's a lower load of powder than most people use, but I read a post from a target shooter on a US site that he found it very accurate. As I'm into economy, I decided to try it. And it worked...

Thanks to the Hornet enthusiasts on here for all the info about reloading for the .22H.

PS. To celebrate, I missed an 80 yard rabbit on the way back to the vehicle!

Have you also just started crimping? mant say it improves thier groups with this case- maybee it get them more consenric? not tried it myself as i get them to .001" or less with the LE wilson bullet seater. I do suspect its more to do with assembly or choice of primer in this cal using LIL GUN not unimportant just less than one might suspect
