How long are you magnet arms ?

Recommended Posts

Hello all

I was out shooting with a "pigeon shooting guide" recently and i was told

my magnet arms were to long for his liking.

Myarms are 4ish foot giving a 8 foot spread bird to bird.

Also the birsd are about 3 foot off the ground. It is a home built wiper motor type.

Any help / measurements would be helpful.

James

My rotor arms are longer than that , always made my rotary arms around 2 + mtrs long , giving roughly a 4 mtr spread give or take at a height around 1.4 mtrs.

Even my lightweight hypaflap rotary has a 3mtr spread around 1.2 mtr height.

Never found any I have made to be a problem , the shorter arm ones less than 1.5 mtr to me do not look right , but then im not a pigeon :)

My advice would be to take what many people say with a pinch of salt.

I've had people tell me my magnet was in the wrong place (though i was still shooting pigeons) or my hide stood out too much (though i was still killing pigeons).

Some folk seem to spout a load of rubbish just for the sake of it with nothing to back up their claims.
