silver pigeon 3
Had an e-mail sent to work today, from someone that lives in Canada. It had these images of this huge pike and the following info For those of you who don't know where Turtle Lake is, it's in Central Saskatchewan.....probably the biggest nearby center would be North Battleford, it's a beautiful resort and lake. This is NOT a fish story ! This is a new record Northern Pike in Canada .. It was caught on Turtle Lake. Check this thing out. The man (in the photos below), was fishing, and caught a 36" Pike. As he was reeling it in, a 56" - 55 lb Pike tried to eat it !!!!! He landed them both in the same net. The last picture is unreal. Now this is a FISH!! That's how they grow them in Canada folks! Makes the recent British record equalling pike look like a tiddler!!
.philmypower.
I've seen that photo before, not on pw though, still amazing pic. You'd think once you've reached 36lb you'd be pretty safe

pegasus bridge
that is awesome . I got an email a while ago - also apparently from canada with a huge pike - but it looked a lot like a photo-shop. this looks fairly convincing though. Davy Holt
Hiya, Sorry guy's it ain't true, its another "exaggerated viral email". Still a cracking fish though but not qite as big as the story makes out nor was it "caught" after it took a 36" fish See here
Cranfield
Those pictures have been around for quite a few years. The consensus is that the pictures of the chap holding the fish and the pike in the water with a smaller pike in its mouth, are unrelated. The big pike was caught by Mr Blom (see Paul's link) and weighed 42lb 9ozs.

The big pike was caught by Mr Blom (see Paul's link) and weighed 42lb 9ozs. Cheers Fred Edited April 15, 2012 by Davy Holt
