Pioneered by John Bidwell.

There are a number of techniques for shooting:-

Maintained lead - you are never behind the target - in theory.

Swing through - catching up to the target and pulling ahead.

Pulling away - follow the target and then pull in front of it.

Bidwell developed his own system quite successfully. There are a number of DVDs which he issued, which explain it far better than me.

Being serious now,

MMS is promoted by John Bidwell in the UK and John Woolley in the USA.

Simply explained it is, have a look at a target, decide where you can see it clearly and where you believe that you can comfortably break it. Then from a gun down position you will call for the target whilst focussing between the visual pickup point and the kill point, as the target flies you will see it, move the gun up to the lead edge of the clay and shoot as the gun comes to your shoulder and face which places an emphasis on good gun mounting technique. It is not really a useful technique for very distant crossers, because you will have difficulty reading the correct amount of lead to apply. Because MMS is an instinctive method of shooting.

Take a look at http://www.ospschool.com/

Great method in my opinion, basically hard focus on front edge of clay and mount into the lead window. Gun hold about 70% along flight path. Basically only 3 leads zone 1 right at front of clay to 2.5 feet out. Zone 2 3 feet to 8 feet and zone 3 more than 8 feet. Similar to mms but not same as you hold much further out so minimising gun movement.
