harrycatcat1
I have seen a few recipes recently that require a frying pan that goes in the oven to finish it off. I only have those pans with handles that would melt in the oven. Do you know of any reasonably priced ones or an alternative method. The food is Frittata, it sounds fancy but it is potatoes and eggs mixed up Thanks in advance. Regards Hcc
rimfire4969
I have had my fry / oven pan for years, I tend to spend a few quid on decent ones (le cruset)(spelling) and they last many many years, cheap ones do have a tendency to buckle when very hot. Regards Hcc You can get a half decent one from sainsburys (probablly other super markets do as well ) with a metal handle for about 25 quid and they work well on hob as well as in oven. Dave. sky gipsy
Hi I use one of these for frittata & loads of other recipies. I paid a lot more for mine about 4 years ago, but has been worth every penny, as it gets used several times a week. http://www.amazon.co.uk/Tefal-Anodised-Shallow-Induction-Compatible/dp/B004P3UIZU/ref=sr_1_2?s=kitchen&ie=UTF8&qid=1335088677&sr=1-

henry d
If you want to do frittata or tortilla, then just start off as usual and instead of turning using a plate or bunging in the oven, put it under a MODERATE grill with a loose piece of alu foil over the handle and you are sorted

apache
TK Max often have Le Cruset/other cast frying pans for very little money. We have picked up a few that way.
harrycatcat1
Well, being someone that finds parting with money difficult I bought a frying pan with a detachable handle so it can go into the oven from the pound shop today The pan is fantastic it worked a dream more than I can say about the Frittata (omelette) unfortunately it was quite tasteless. What do you put in to make it tasty ? ps When you have finished with the pan you can roll it up Seriously its not bad I have pics
