southeastpete
Hi, I am looking at getting a new phone and am wondering between the iphone 4s and the galaxy nexus. There is a website called affordablemobiles that is offering both for £36 a month. but with the nexus you can get cashback, which means that it would work out at £25 a month. considering they are two year contracts, which phone do people think i would be better off with? and is affordablemobiles a kosher site, as they offer iphone for £36 with orange, but on oranges site, the best they do is £46... Cheers, Pete
P~MX
I've an iphone 4s and I must say it's great for features but I'd say it's pretty pants for battery life and sometimes reception ! are they worth the money ? depends on what you need from your phone !! btw the camera is good but you can download an even better app for free ! ack-ack
I've toyed with the idea of an i-phone but I reckon I'd be a slave to it. Far too distracting especially when in traffic. Not one for me.

Bloke
I pay £31 pcm with vodafone for my 4s - I had google/htc nexus one before that and the iphone is light years better.
stefler
If you choose a deal with cash back bear in mind you will have to chase them for the money and probably send in bills etc. Which phone is better will really depend on what you want to do with it. I know I could get away with a much more basic phone than the one I have but I always get distracted by shiny things.

Browning GTS
This has been done a few times. Ive had iPhones and Android and its Android every time maybe not a few year ago but they are getting so good now and a lot more versatile than Apple. A samsung is like a jailbroken iPhone. Browning GTS
Another thing with iPhones try changing the battery, memory card or fitting a normal sim card in one.

Browning GTS
Um, sim card the thing every mobile phone uses. The iPhone uses the micro ones that will not fit other phones. Edited April 26, 2012 by Browning GTS

Billy.
What else do you use apart from a sim card? Um, sim card the thing every mobile phone uses. The iPhone uses the micro ones that will not fit other phones. Sorry, I should have made myself a bit clearer - mico sims are the next step, so people shouldn't be banging on about how the new sims don't fit. Apple and a few others have been trying to put a stop to sim cards altogether. It's perfectly possible to 'assign' a carrier to a phone, but not require a sim card. It just seems the carriers aren't keen on this idea.
Blackstone
Not sure why they want to downsize sims either, would just lead to more compatability issues and for what...

southeastpete
see, ive always hated apple for their arrogance and incompatability. but its like i hate bmw, i still have to admit they make a good product. overpriced, but good. i went with the iphone in the end. was going to go with giffgaff £10 per month, but the vodafone retention team rang me and offered me loads more for tenner a month :-) i just hope this siri thing works, which by all accounts it wont. but it would be cool to just say to your phone, get me directions to the nearest pizza hut, and it do it...
