Ok, so i went to Macavoys in wigan yesterday to have a look at a Ruger 10/22. Changed my mind when i saw another semi. Tim (the guy in there) test fired it for me, and it was jamming. Looked up and saw a CZ BRNO 16' that took my fancy. Only problem was that the stock was a dog. Once i tried the action, i knew i wanted it, so i gave him £200 for the gun, a mod and a massive Edgar brothers scope that lets me see over to france. So, i set about the stock earlier.

As you can see, it was full of dings, scratches and even some burn marks (ive no idea).

Good effort Martin....Whats happening with the marker pen checkering on the fore-end???

Well, it was like that when i found it  as basic as it looks, it seems ok. I thought it must have been a home job, but then why would they not sell a checquered forend stock? Cant see them selling it blank.

Did you rub the stock down much? One gem of advice I was given was to always leave the plastic butt-plate screwed in throughout the finishing process, apparently if you're unlucky the wood can become rounded off very slightly at the butt which will show up as the wood will no longer be flush to the plate.

When I did my Beretta I left mine in place taped up, there were a few light scratches left on the plastic but they polished out with some 1200 wet & dry.

Good job on that stock, looks 10x better.

EDIT:

If you do another plank, I can't recommend Trade Secrets oil finish products enough. Top notch stuff.

Looks much better mate, and a good tool for the £ you paid for it  doubt very much if the rabbits will be bothered about the chequering ;) BB

trust me, after some of the shots i pulled off the other night with it, the chequering is the last night that goes throught their minds. well, apart from the Eley subs

Easy - old game keeper holding a cigarette whilst shooting! :good:

That could be the answer we are looking for :good:

what,s the trigger like? if factory get a trigger kit off S.Y.S.S. about £14.posted, so easy to fit even i can do it.

as it happens, its the factory trigger, but that suits me. im rather "thick fingered" and dont really like the ones that go off when u look at them
