gixer1
why? Because it would reduce the amount of neds shooting kids/dogs/cats with them....
storme37
i think we have enough licences for everything already the air rifle is great because you can keep 1 anywhere with out home visits and decorations it will be a sad day when you cant even keep an air gun off licence. and you dont have to wait 4 months to get 1 lol i love mine Edited May 2, 2012 by storme37

gixer1
But are these North of the border nerds or South :yp: Either, have read of it happening in both... no it wouldn't criminals don't bother with licences Of course it would as the amount of air guns in circulation would reduce over time, and the legit people who store and use guns have nothing to fear in regard to a license. storme37
be a waste of time how much crime really happens with air riffles and there are already laws about what you can and cant do with an air rifle people can be prosecuted under existing laws so what will really change. its not like they are lethal weapons. FalconFN
I wouldn't mind having an air rifle licence, but I would mind paying through the nose for it and waiting months for it to be sorted. Can't see it happening as there must be tens of thousands of air rifles in regular use and probably many more in lofts and garages up and down the country - saying that if they were introduced those rifles would flood the second hand market so there would be bargains galore to be had. gixer1
no i dont need a licence for an air rifle im responsible with them, you going to licence kitchen knives next? as said before there are already laws for air rifles why make more? Kitchen knives are governed by laws when used for purposes outwith thier intended - so I guess you could say they are licensed already under the knife laws and regs. Make more laws on this for the reason that if you are a legit user you have nothing to worry about...if you are a ned then it may deter you. storme37
if your a ned you dont give a **** about the law all im saying i don't think there is enough air gun crime to warrant the over kill of a fire arms licence it would kill the sport for many shooters that's to high a price to pay for a few idiots
storme37
anyway i cant see an air gun licence happening and if it does it would just be a revenue exercise buy it from the post office job

storme37
wheres it stop land inspections? club memberships or no shooting nanny state here we come next the lead pellets will have to go. a legitimate shooter is someone who does not shoot illegally we already have those laws why do you want more.
gixer1
Land inspection - simple, have your land inspected! Lead pellets - don't shoot over water with them I am aware of the legitimate shooter definition, so why again would a license harm the legitimate shooter (other than financially of course)
