    • kill it, they are pests anyway

hi I am new to this websight, i am intersted in what you would do if you found a young woodpigeon squab on the ground with no obvious damage, this happend to me today the bird was almost fully feathered but seemed to have just tried to fly from the nest and it did not work!

 

above are the options think about it before voting, my intial reaction was different to what i did. i hope this works.

As it's a pigeon, and therefore a pest, I would kill it humanely and take it home for the pot, or if too small, ferret fodder. If it were a protected species, I would follow the advice of the R.S.P.B (no I am not a member, but I do read their articles, some of which make sense) and leave it well alone. The parents are seldom far away.
