Blunderbuss
A couple of people asked for this, so here's the Tortilla (Spanish Omlette) recipe: The recipe I used was similar to the one here: http://www.guardian.co.uk/lifeandstyle/wordofmouth/2010/jul/29/how-to-cook-spanish-omelette I fry the onions for at least half an hour on a very low heat, same for the potatoes. Let it all cool THEN add to the egg mix (I used a dozen) with lots of salt and pepper. I don't even bother trying to flip it, too much risk of messing it up. I just put it under the grill in the pan to do the top, that way you get that yummy runny egg in the middle. The second one was better than the first which was probably partly to do with it resting longer and partly that it was 'rarer' inside. The almonds were just dry toasted in a pan then tossed in ex-vr olive oil and sea salt. Good luck. EDIT: I always serve room temperature or at best 'warm'. Never serve hot! Cheers Duncan, that was "gurt lush" might have a got at that tonight Edited May 18, 2012 by Blunderbuss

ack-ack
Cheers D. I signed up for that drop box link you sent but have yet to mess about with it. That vacuum packer was the business. Not sure I could muster £2k for one but I'm certainly looking into getting a cheaper version. Should make the freezer a bit more organised also. bakerboy
The Norfolk Flush is just such a weekend. Many of us stay over and have a great time. The next Flush will be held on July 28th, contact Alan "hitclays" for more information. Currently I think there are 40+ people attending Edited May 22, 2012 by bakerboy
Thunderbird
I second that, from what Terry says about it, it sounds like a right laugh. Why not out the feelers out Yoggy and see what happens - needn't be complicated nor expensive.

hendersons
Good evening all Mike has sent me a pm saying that you have all had a whip round for me. I'm very grateful for what you have done. It has to be said though I'm slightly embarrassed I don't really see why I've been singled out to receive such a thing. Especially as you all do so much if not more than i do to make these events a success. I now feel that our merry band has now become more than just a group of people who know each other through the Internet. It feels like we have become real friends. With the new guys that came to the last meet it just seemed to expand and enhance that. I have always found it difficult to take thanks from friends especially in the form of gifts. I would just like you all to know that your kindness has meant a lot to me. If you do it again though I'm not doing it anymore. Now those of you that are able please do as I'm doing now and raise a glass to our merry band of the Cotswold group and to pigeon watch as a whole. Cheers to you all Nick
