TJ91
Split the gun in pieces and put a triger lock on it. Take a main part of the gun with you wherever you go and store the rest in a safe conceled place
HDAV
Or invest in some portable security, it is your responsibility to make sure you have taken all reasonable precautions which means it's up to you..... I would suggest as minimum keeping the gun broken and seruing the action or barrels so they cannot be removed. Either a chamberlock, a Trgger lock, a locked case or similar is a good idea i use a http://www.scottcountry.co.uk/products_detail.asp?productID=1463 and attach to a solid object when traveling. What is 'reasonable' will depend on the circumstances at the time. You would not be expected to install a security cabinet for a couple of days visit but then again that doesn't mean you can leave it around for all and sundry to walk off with. I would think it would be perfectly reasonable to split it and hide it in various locations. J.

wymberley
In-laws - that's the clue - you're married. Hide the wife in the loft or under the bed and sleep with the gun!
njc110381
I'd split the barrels, fore and and action and then ideally lock the barrels to something. I use a Masterlock Python... http://www.masterlock.com/products/product_details.jsp?lockStyle=null&typeOfEnvironment=null&lockUpValue=null&category=CableLocks_AdjustableLockingCables_DiscLocking_No.8419PythonAdjustableLockingCables&modelNumber=MLCOM_PRODUCT_8419KA You can thread the cable up one barrel then back down the other and then lock to a suitable hard place. My favourite if accessable is the main electric input to the house - can't see anyone cutting that and getting away with it!
