NickS
I seem to be making no progress with improving my scores so 'tis time for some lessons on a more regular basis. Can anyone recommend a coach who works in the NW Surrey area? I cannot do weekdays except during school holidays which is a pity as I got on OK at Roundwood SG - unfortunately they are closed at weekends. TIA Nick

Salopian
Owls Lodge ask for a young man called Richard, I can't remember his surname. He has a lovely wife & son. He may be busy in July

Sticky96
I'm not sure if it's too much of a Trek for you but you could try Lains Shooting School near Andover, they are very good and reasonably priced as well Sticky
dougall
Bisley Shooting Ground down M3 from you? I think they are all good instructors there and a great ground/variety.Not cheap think @ £90/hour all in,if your budget up to it a good place. For less money go to Cowdray Park think his name Duncan Carver..bit more of a journey but good coach.
scuta
Richard Weller. An independent instructor based down in Surrey. He's a top bloke. I've had a few lessons with him and he's sorted me right out. Very patient and relaxed. My 'hour' long lesson was closer to an hour and a half and very reasonably priced. He'll travel to whatever ground you choose or will recommend a venue. Can't praise him high enough. Look him up at www.fieldandclay.co.uk or give him a shout on 07971577871. Cheers, Scuta
hillmouse
Second vote for Richard Weller. Extremely patient, knowledgeable. Nice relaxed style, proper assesment and feedback and sensible prices. Give him a call and get him booked. You won't regret it.
NickS
Thanks for the recommendations. It is getting more necessary as my son is outshooting me all the time and the squib needs putting back in his place. Nick
welshwarrior
I'd recommend David Dales he is top notch and a nice guy to boot.
martinb
I'm not sure if it's too much of a Trek for you but you could try Lains Shooting School near Andover, they are very good and reasonably priced as well Sticky My wife and I had a lesson with Howard at Lains 2 weeks ago, a really nice chap who was able to improve both our shooting. I had been having problems with high driven pheasants and an instructor at a local shoot told me that there was nothing wrong with my shooting but my gun did not have enough cast so I was missing off to one side, after buying a new gun there was no improvement. Howard had me fixed within a few shots and I was hitting the driven pheasants off their high tower fairly consistently, a bit more practice and I will have them licked. My wife has very little experience and was shooting with her gun for only the second time after making the move from semi-auto to 20g, she has always shot pre-mounted but Howard soon had her shooting gun down and shooting well. All in all it was a very enjoyable experience and I would highly recommend Lains. Martin
NickS
Thanks all for the recommendations. I have arranged to meet with Richard Weller in a couple of weeks' time. After an abysmal effort last time there really has to be only one way my scores can go! OTOH my local club has a handicapped comp coming up in Setember so I am well set up to get a good head start on everyone else lol Nick
NickS
Had a very good morning with Richard. I was impressed with his approach and patience. All I now have to do is practice Nick
