ATM - I can hold 80 and buy 40 for both my .222 and 6.5 Thanks in anticipation Your post say bullet heads, If you do acctually mean just bullet heads you dont have to inform the police how many you want, You will want to put a quantity of factory ammo on your ticket though, I think the quantitys posted by the others are there allocation of factory ( Pre made ) ammo I myself have 400 to keep and 300 to buy for my .223 .308 and my soon to be prchased 6.5 Grendel AR15 You can buy as many components as you like but you can only have so many made up at any one time. Hope this helps. Steve

rarms
Ask for as many as u like I doubt they will say no. I got buy 500 keep 600 in .223 and buy 1000 keep 1200 in both .22 and .308/7.62 You can say you want consitency of buying large batches which is a valid reason to buy large ammounts. I didnt need to justify mine at all but I dont think it hurts to ask
mry716
"You can say you want consistency of buying large batches which is a valid reason to buy large amounts." That is a 'Good reason' and will satisfy any Police Authority BUT the Home Office have said that buying larger quantities to save money is not a good reason. Personally I would have thought being able to buy 500 at a time with the same batch number would be a reasonable request even if the usage was over 2-3 years and I would stick to my guns for that amount if i was in your position. Remember there is no law saying what you can have and the only real criteria is public safety. So will the public be safe if you have 500 heads??? Sorry I didn't hear you! henry d
I`m also wanting to shoot on a local range as the Bisley weekend was just soooooo good and think that if I show willing to spend time and effort shooting paper then nice Mr.policeman will say yes to 300or more CF heads,or I hope so. henry d
I was going to just use the hunting ammo as I feel I should use the practice on the range to ensure,to the best of my ability, that each kill is totally humane......................as last nights was with the .
Dunkield
It gets a bit wooly with range shooting, strictly speaking Fister is right, you shouldn't be using expanding ammo for target shooting but it can be used for 'zeroing and practice' that is OK He is also correct in the different way expanding and FMJ bullet heads are viewed.
