Had arranged to go decoying this morning for a 9am start on a friends permission. I was up @ 7 and the weather didnt look to groovey, so in turn i arranged for us to go for a walk around one of my permissions that have just had all the edge land mowed.

We left mine and had a walk up the road, managed to bag a pigeon & rabbit

Went back to mine and decided to go and check the clover field out, so off we went. Weather had cleared up by now

We walked to the field and there no pigeons feeding anywhere on the clover, however we saw a few in some trees in the far corner. Walked down and a few flew out so after a few bangs we couldnt believe how many lifted! Quite literally hundreds. We let them all fly off and decided to wait 10 mins to see what the traffic was like. 5 mins was all we needed, birds everywhere.

Back to the car to fetch the kit, but on the way back we noticed hundreds more lift off another field that has some form of cerial growing. But we decided to set up on the clover. We were set up by 1130

Some very good sport was had for the few hours we were set up, i had a left and right (first whilst decoying for a LONG time) Missed some easy shots but hit some good ones as we all do im sure.

Ended up with 23 Picked off the clover and 4 lost into woodland

So thats 28 Pigeons and a rabbit, should of been alot more  but still had a great day. First time out with the shotguns for a while
