little owls, Skomer island

to my knowledge no Mixie on the sland, large numbers of brown, black and mixed colours, without the rabbit warrens the Manx shearwater and puffins would have no where to nest

 

Could be so, the last time we went to Skomer was about 4 years ago and good old tinternet has come up with the last outbreak being 2007. Just have memories of black backed gulls hammering the deceased bunnies, not a pretty site. :huh:

Great pictures. One of the few Owls which is Diurnal and infact some may be suprised to know its not a native species having been introduced to Britain in the mid to late 1800's.
