fruitloop
what is the problem wit the pin on yrs and can you put a pic up
deputy dog
Cant put a picy up mate, as im using my phone. The problem is is the pin is hitting the cartridge but the cartridge isn't firing all the time. Say for example i fire ten shots, about half would have been hit but hasn't fired. There is a dent on the rim of the cartridge where it has been struck, but i dont think its enough force behind it to fire it properly. I think its either the pin or the spring has weakened. Iv just taken it apart after watching that link you gave me, and it was surprisingly easy to do even first timer lik me me. Had a look at the pin face an it dose look a little worn, i think it in the long run im going to replace the pin an spring to make sure. Thanks for that link the Fruit mate, it was spot on help wise DD Edited August 4, 2012 by deputy dog

Thanks for that link the Fruit mate, it was spot on help wise DD It's very unlikely that you will need a new pin or a spring for that matter. My first guess is, it needs a really good clean. It is possibly gunk/residue inside the bolt, stopping full forward travel of the pin. This will need picking out with something like a cocktail stick. Another possibility is that you have a batch of duff ammo, I have seen poor batches with loads of missfires even in good quality match ammo. The profile of the pin may have been damaged when dry firing - this shouldn't happen with a rimfire but worth looking at. If there is a real problem it would be a simple job for a smith to turn/file a few thou of the stop face of the pin to allow it to protrude a little further then reprofiled. (I have just fitted a new firing pin spring to my Voere semi-auto .22. (It was second hand when I bought it in 1973 and it has shot countless thousands of rounds.) deputy dog
I thought that it may have been diff ammo mate, but after reloading the mag with the cartridges that had been struck once before. I found the second time around they all fired. Perhaps not the safest thing to do, but i had to find out if it was the ammo or not and it doesn't seem to be the ammo. As i thought if it was a duff cartidge it wouldn't fire at all. I'l strip it down again later on and give it a good cleaning an see if that works, if not then i may buy a new pin for it or see a smithy, i got a number of a local one, so i can ring him if needs be. Cheers :good: DD
Drayman
Not the same problem but worth a check all the same. CZ452 - safety wouldn't engage, in fact, wouldn't turn past half way. Also, bolt lever seemed close to the stock grove as you pushed it down. Stripped and cleaned bolt a couple of times but to no effect. Then found small piece of gunk in the extractor receiving slot in the barrel (just where the round enters the barrel). Cleaned it out and perfect safety action. So might be worth checking everything that affects the action of the bolt. Edited August 4, 2012 by WVAM

fruitloop
when you have striped cleaned and re asembled throw the bolt over so the pin is poking through the fron of the bolt face and see how much of the pin is sticking out the bolt face

Cheers :good: DD Duff ammo can actually have gaps in the primer around the rim, so when you hit the rim without any primer in it, it doesn't fire. Turning the rim around and hitting another part WITH primer in it will fire it. Sounds like you have duff ammo to me. G.M.
