colliwobbles
Last week I had a night lamping with Dave-G who came for a visit to Cornwall (thanks again Dave! ). Despite the weather and fog not helping it was a good night out, with a few rabbits accounted for. Now the last time I tried shooting left handed was in the military a few years ago and after watching a mate get hit in the face by a hot 5.56 as it was ejected and laughing at him it wasn't something that I thought I would have to repeat, however, as Dave was driving and I was shooting out of the front passengers seat I tried the usual tactic of shooting with my dominant right side. As we all know we don't bend that well, nor does the rifle and I'm certainly no contortionist. Dave being a bit more wiley than I, suggested shooting left handed with the rifle resting on the wing mirror. It took a few rounds to get used to, using my left eye instead of right as well as squeezing the trigger left handed, fortunately the ones I missed were a country mile but it didn't take long to get used to and I didn't get hit by flying brass either. A cracking night out and I think I'm now a convert to a Sako Quad as well. How does everyone else get on cack handed?
HDAV
I'm right handed but left eye Dom so shoot LH took a bit to get used to it... A mate is left handed and can shoot of both he shoots LH apart from rapid fire comps RH as its quicker to operate the bolt with a semi all LH
kiffy
i am right handed but since i first shot a mates gun as a kid ive shot left handed, ive always had bad eye sight, with my right eye being far worse than the left and try as i might i have failed to shoot right handed. well not fail, i can shoot right handed but even taking out my bad eyesight i no longer feel comfortable trying shame really as its cost me a lot of money over the years, my first leftie air rifle cost me more to buy than the right handed version. then i failed to sell it when i upgraded to pcp as at the time no one wanted a leftie, looking back im now glad i still have my old air arms... my second air rifle also cost me more... its a damn shame that left handed people get penalised for being left handed

Breastman
its a damn shame that left handed people get penalised for being left handed Just less are made so the economies of scale don't work in cackhanders favour You have to shoot weak-shouldered in mini-rifle, gallery rifle and practical shotgun comps for some stages, with the rifles its not too bad, it just slows you down, but the with the shotgun it really knocks you about because of the poor mount - more practice needed! Dave-G
T'was a very enjoyable late night out - we'll have to do it again if I come down next year Collin. My butcher will be glad about the 58 bunnies I'm taking back for him too.
