Looking forward to my first year wildfowling!

Only thing is it only occured to me last week after arranging to go out Sep 1st, it's the wife's birthday that day!!!!

So Cosd,

Did the Mrs get a big fat jucy duck for her birthday ?? or something better ??

My WFW did not moan when we sat down to our first goose of the 2012/13 season for Sunday lunch (goose wellington) although she was a bit grumpy when I got up on the Saturday morning

I am back off shore for the next two weeks so I will be missing out on the early part of the season, but I am off to Orkney for 10 days at the end of the month so I hope to make up for some lost time.

Cheers

BBL

I did manage to get out on Monday evening....thought i was in a good position when i spotted the greylags feeding on stubble, tried to call SP3 but my shooting phone would not allow me to make any calls......maybe my phone card is out, well its been running a £10 top up for 2 years....lol

anyway geese did appear but a bit further down where i was standing and across the conservation area at Frampton.

Heard a couple of shots earlier in the evening but the geese got left alone this evening anyway

Did get a nice bite on my cheek bone and it still hurts now and my face is swollan, ahh wildfowling dont you love it

I managed 3 more ducks today, that takes my total to 6 mallard and 1 gadwall, i've had a few opportunities to take some geese too, but I decided to leave them until another day, as i didnt fancy carrying 15lb honker's off the marsh in this heat!!

I have to say, I'm looking forward to the cold weather setting in. Fowling in the sun is not great!

All in all, a steady start to the season. Bring on the wigeon :good:
