Ant8681
I went out with Click this morning on one of his permissions to see if we could make a dent in the pigeon population, there were plenty about but I was not on form at all! For 26 fired I got 1 pigeon to show for it! I did shoot a crow but it landed in thistles! Click did better but im not sure how many he fired. I'm off to have a quiet word with myself and get on the clays! It was a lovely morning though, just nice to get out of a house filled with people with colds! http://i1171.photobucket.com/albums/r559/Ant8681/DSC_0096-1.jpg Thank you Click!!! Greenhunter
Hey, 'it happens! Did the same a few weeks ago. 1 for 25! Haven't got that gun anymore even tho I could hit clays with it! I've had a couple of good days since with a different gun so make of that what you will. GH
hedd-wyn
We all get them ant. I spent three days preparing my kit, cleaning the car and painting my decoys ready for a morning on the crows on saturday. Went to bed early on the friday like a good lad, and woke up ******* late! I never wake up late! Arrived the permission at half eight and desperatly put up the hide as well as I could in a pathetic attempt to redeem myself. In three hours I didnt fire one shot, I swear I could hear the crows in stitches in the background. Mother nature 1...... Hedd Wyn
click
It was nice to get out with the shotty again mate and I'm sure you'll do better next time, I only fired a dozen but they were flighting past bleedy dam quick!!! Would have be nice to have got that Jay but with me shotgun skills I had no hope lol. So the lonesome bunny in my field bought it instead! Will have another go the end of the week praps. rorygall
At least you got a few shots off , despite the frustration. I sat in a field on Monday for 5 hours. Shot two woodies and a crow (3/3) but that was all in the first hour and half. After that it was just me talking to myself for 4 hours. But it beats a day at work. Least you found some birds even of you did not connect with them. Don't seem to be that many around here (Perranporth area) mate of mine up by Bodmin has the same problem as me. I am sure next time you will do better.

I have been watching quite a few over the past few months between perran and truro but when they cut the pigeon seemed to disappear!! We were shooting over towards snozzle on this day!
