Another Gem from our Courts

A blind man who was convicted of dangerous driving after he admitted being behind the wheel of a car that touched 35 mph was given a three-month suspended sentence on Monday.

Omed Aziz was also banned from driving for three years at Warley magistrates' court in Oldbury, West Midlands.

Aziz, 31, who lost his eyes after an explosion in his homeland of Iraq, had been driving by following instructions on where to steer and when to brake from a passenger who himself had been banned from driving.

When police stopped the Peugeot 405 in April this year after it had erratically negotiated two traffic islands and a corner, Aziz's passenger explained that his friend was blind.

When Aziz, who is also partially deaf, was asked to step out of the car and remove his sunglasses, the officer was surprised to see he did not have any eyes, the court heard earlier this month.

In his defence Aziz, who also suffers from leg tremors and has only two fingers on his right hand, said he was testing his driving abilities.

At an earlier hearing he had admitted driving with no MOT, no licence and no insurance.

Can you believe it they only Banned this Guy for 3 years

Does that mean when his 3 year ban is up he can drive again? Why wasn't his driving license revoked completely???? Sometimes I despair. I am only continuing to smoke so one day I will be in a similar minority to a one parent black lesbian person of limited vision who is vertically challenged with leqrning difficulties. Maybe they'll even give me grants!!!!!!!!!!!!

You can bet your life you will get a grant for it, unless all the money from the bottomless pit used to fund pathetic causes has been used up. Maybe we just need to extend the retirement age another few years so that the wasters and low lifes in our society can continue to be fully funded.

As for the guy having his licence back in three years do you really think he had one in the first place ? He didn't have tax insurance or even an MOT on the car by all accounts so why would he need to bother with such a triviality. Who would have paid had he killed someone while driving ? You've guessed it; the mugs who follow the rules and regulations to the letter and pay over the odds for every last thing they buy or service they sign up to. In other words US again !!!!

Maybe we are all being too cynical here and the reality is that eye transplants are so near to being perfected that this guy will be fully sighted in three years time. See I do have an optimistic side to my nature after all :yes::lol::lol:

why are you all so indignant over this .? this tpye of pathetic justice dealing happens every day.and please dont take me as a racist because im not . im a realist and theres a big difference but i think he was treated differentlly to you or i because he is from a minority. how about the woman who was arrested for swearing at the thugs that had terrorised her for two years without the police taking any action against them?

the papers are full of examples of our very warped judicial systemt. police have a cuty of care tothe public but not an individual. that means they cant be sued if they fail to act when you are attacked and also means that the right to self defence has all but been taken away from us.

a judge once said" an englishmans home is his castle, and from it he is obliged to retreat no furthur."

what a joke. there will be a civil upheaval in this country within the next ten years if there isnt a radical change for the better.

So a blind man gets a three year ban for driving whilst disqualified; so what does a copper get for doing 153MPH in an unmarked vehicle NOT responding to an emergency, NOT chasing some dastardly villain and with NO blues lights or sirens on....he was just "familiarising myself with the car"? A COMPLETE LET OFF  and they say there's no justice in the UK.
