pigeon mad
22 g green dot 32 g 7 1/2 shot the bloke I brought it off set it up for me for a basic load I would of rather had six shot but he didn't have any at the time I'm using them for declying and clays if anyone else has a better all round recipe feel free to share 👍👍😀
nabbers
You need a lip round that bench, a good size hole and a tray under the surface to catch stray shot, powder and all the other mishaps. Just passing on the best advice I was given by Snarepeg! Still finding shot on our kitchen floor from when I started, the dyson doesn't pick it up. pigeon mad
Lol good idea I did think after last night I'd better do something as the shot does escape now and then 👍👍👍
Guest cookoff013
other loads you can try, 24grain greendot, 1oz shot should be 1300fps and 8300psi . thats not too bad, slightly quicker than a normal load, if you were intent on using up your components and saving alittle lead

Guest cookoff013
thinking about starting to reload my self ,how much would you save approx on a 1000 rounds over say rc 2/rc s4 would be shooting mainly pigeons so prob same setup you would save very little, on comparison the only loads you`d save money on are premium game loads or loads that are 36g + or loads that have a shotsize of 5 or more. saving the most would be subsonics as very little powder is used. reloading for 20 saves slightly more, -.410 saves the most. now, what us reloaders can do is produce a equivalent cartridge for the intended use, such as 1oz #6 load for pigeon, it should save £20 worth of lead, and gain a few fps in doing so.. the cartridge manufacturers refuse to make a cheap 1oz #6 because that affects their premium game loads, and competes with their pigeon loads. all manufacturers refuse to do this. you could make a 1oz #6 load for about £200 it would be fast, the equivalent pigeon shells such as HC SP £228 /k. so the products costs are very comparable, just that 0.3p extra per cartridge could make it very expensive. i dont really care about the costs, i just write them off as part of my hobbie. on a recent run, i ended up paying an extra £80 just for powder / 2000shells. as you buy expensive RC cartridges as it is, you will save money. Wharf Rat
That looks good, I bought a Lee Loadall II in 20g months ago and its still sat in the box :( I should sell it as I guess I won't do wot with it sadly. Have a go at it mate. I found some 20g recipes that outperform anything I could buy over the counter and still save a couple of quid. Couple of hours messing about at the start and you soon pick up what to do.
Guest cookoff013
reloading isnt for all, it is convienient to just buy shells. but with a reloader i can make my 12gauge do what a 28gauge gun can do, or i can make it shoot like a 10gauge, and i can increase the speed or reduce the recoil of most loads. it actually makes gauges slightly obsolete. as for all shotguns, you can fire light loads reduced recoil light loads, light superfast, avereage loads and heavy, and heavy / fast loads. its like having a huge cartridge shop infront of you, all in every shotsize from #10 to "00" you can make the 20gauge shell shoot 12gauge loads, but its just all to do with personal preference. currently i like slow loads. i`ve dabbled in quicker loads. as for what loads to shoot, i`d ask sitsinhedges, he reloads for the 20, i exclusively reload for 12.
