sandspider
Hi all I may be looking at a Jimny this weekend, as a possible second car / occasional shooting wagon. It's 2000 reg, low mileage, apparently has full service history. I'm not going to have access to a ramp or anything, but I'll try and look underneath the car, check for rust in the wheel arches and under the boot carpet etc. Are there any other problem areas I should look at? Thanks muchly.

crosswaters
Ask to drive the motor and take the speed up and over 60mph....a big problem with these 4x4 Jimnys is whats called " Death wobble " This is caused by kingpin bearings knacked or need shimming, wheel bearing knacked and bushing worn. This is a well known fault....google it and find. cheers.H
sandspider
Thanks gents. Checked the car out, and it was in very good condition. No rust, no death wobble, low mileage and well looked after. But the bloke didn't accept my offer - fair enough. I think I'd prefer a hard top anyway...
