recommend me some 70mm cartridges for a semi auto

Recommended Posts

hey all,

can anyone recommend some good cartridges to use in a semi auto (webely and scott 810)

just brought the gun second hand and doesnt seem to like 67mm cartridges, when the first shot is fried is pushes out two shells and gets jams (this is with 67mm) works fine with 70mm

looking for cartridges 30 - 34 grams shot size 5 -7 would be nice

any advice would be great thx :)

ps no replies along the lines of "get this semi as its the best ever" "dont buy cheap semis they always break" ect .....

thx solz :good:

this is my gun, where abouts is the o ring? am i right in thinking there is a heavy and light side to switch between loads? and which part is this?

The black part in the ring on your barrel is the piston it should pull out the oring is in front of it. do you also have a black plastic tube with rings around it.If yours takes 3.5" carts it could be different to mine.Sorry sold mine to mate so cant take a picture or send manual.

ye the piston does not want to pull out, i can see the or ring inside it, put its sort of lodged in there, i can turn it aorund (cloackwise and anit clockwise) but i cant pull it out of the barrel,

i dont have a black plastic tube with rings on it, what you see there is what i have, its a 3" chamber

I think you could have a part missing its the plasic tube with rings around it and its about 3" long, which you can turn around for different load carts.. The piston does apear to be stuck,it may be worth taking it to a gun smith for a real clean and service. As when clean the 810's work a real treat and always cycle.

hmm ok thanks for the advice, it works fine with 70mm carts, seems strange that there is a part missing, i will go back to the gun shop where i brought it from and have a chat to them. where abouts does this tube go? there doesnt seem to be space to fit another 3" of plastic anywhere, and the piston should not be stuck in?

edit: do you know what the missing part is called?

If you put webley and scott in google and search images a como one is stripped down and you can see the parts. It goes on the mag tube on top of the part that holds the spring the black part and under the piston. You will have space when bolt is pulled back.

The new clear pigeon still use clear cases, they are plastic wad, the black ones are fiber wad.

The black ones come in both plastic and fibre wads. I have purchased and used both. As the black cases are 70mm long they fit the bill as per the OPs question.
