drut Posted November 17, 2012 Report Share Posted November 17, 2012 RSPCA may be a charity but it certainly keeps a lot of people in well paid employment.As a dog/cat lover I can think of many(to me at least) more well deserving causes.My experiences with RSPCA with ill treat horses etc have been less than positive. apache Posted November 18, 2012 Report Share Posted November 18, 2012 I could raise a lot of issues about the RSPCA and let's leave it that we don't always see eye to eye, BUT the country would be worse off without them. Crazy as it is a charity brings private prosecutions against people for animal cruelty because no-one else can be bothered. Shouldn't be up to them, but it seems to be. Personally i think it might be time for the house of windsor to consider warning the bosses about its royal charter. can you belive they stole one guys "free range chickens" and took them into protective custody coz they were wandering all over! i am not kidding, you seriously couldn't make some of it up. So they monitor chickens for egg production Ha, ha blooming ha! What the heck has thier charities charter got to do with badger culling with rifles? a bit back it was rifles were more humane than hounds- like they new a blessed thing about either! pegasus bridge Posted November 18, 2012 Author Report Share Posted November 18, 2012 the bit that really gets under my skin, is the whole badger cull opposition with the rspca showing how aligned they are to the animal rights vegan nut-jobs at LACS and the vegan Dr of star gazing Mr May, all over a few badgers - when they are quite happy to cull lots of other animals without a second thought (i'm sure the science would say these animals didnt need to be killed - but when its costing them, they are only too happy to make a financial decision . - disgusting level of hypocrisy. Dekers Posted November 18, 2012 Report Share Posted November 18, 2012 There is no doubt in my mind that the RSPCA have been far too big for their boots for many years, they seem to wonder about and write articles like they are God Almighty. I expect they do serve a purpose, but they really need to reel it in a bit, they have strayed too far from their charity animal welfare scenario to hard faced business, and are a big employer with some big salaries! Brian May kept talking about guns and bullets. Its bloody hard to ever see a badger except by chance, much less shoot it. The badgers will be gassed in their setts not shot. Apparently, the RSPCA do not oppose mink culling. They said that they usually oppose culls but not with mink, as there is good scientific grounds for a cull. Despite the fact that there is 100% solid scientific grounds to cull grey squirrels, but they have attacked culls of grey squirrels, describing the culls as "pointless".
