Hi Guys, It seems to me that it is going to be a pretty big PW group of shooters. Victoria and I are happy to drop out as we are really, really new at this and don't want to cramp your style or mess up what is bound to be a nice shoot.

Dave,

Im not going to this but have been to all 3 of the charity shoots,

Its great being able to put faces to names, nobody takes it too seriously, the banter is what its all about.

Its the meeting thats the important thing not who hits the most clays.

Come to next years charity shoot, you will have already met some PW'rs by then and its a chance to met a lot more

next years is back down south, (to be honest they are down south for some of us :ermm: )

:shaun:

I'm easy, if people would rather meet at the ClayShooting R Us event on 16th Dec then I'm happy to go along too. I've been to the shop there a couple of times, but not to any of their events. There isn't a lot of parking space though - do they open up the field at the back for this? Also there isn't a lot of info about the event on their website, so shall we wait for more details then make a decision closer to the day about which would be a better shooting opportunity for a group?

The ClayShooting R Us and the Crazy Bear sites are only 10-15 minutes away from each other in case anybody is wondering.

Great - sounds like the plan is the Crazy Bear followed by the event at the nearby Clay Shooting R Us for those interested. I’m looking forward to meeting some fellow shooters.

I’m not sure about the pub option though - I’d feel anxious about leaving my gun in the car as I’m sure that the police wouldn't be impressed if it got stolen whilst I was inside enjoying a cheeky half.

Out of interest, what do other people do with their guns if they’re going for food/drinks straight after a shoot?

You could remove the forend and keep it in a small bag (wife's handbag) and take it with you. Secure the remainder in the car boot with a bicycle security cable looped through a tie down loop on the boot floor and trigger guard.

I think reasonable precautions and if you take a phone pic you've got proof if the car gets nicked or broken into.
