.philmypower.
Tam the hero 3 white edition is 199.99 free next day delivery on action cameras just google them. You would then need a micro sd card 20 quid off eBay and what ever mounts you decide you would like. I recommend the head strap
madhunter
get the drift hd mate, much better camera and comes with a neat remote that fits on your wrist, there are no advantages of 1080p with 60fps unless you are doing some serious speed biking, the human eye cannot pick up more than 30fps anyway, so careful with these stats they push out, Edited December 10, 2012 by madhunter
.philmypower.
The go pro in my opinion is the best camera on the market. You can get a remote for your wrist and a LCD screen. You can control multiple cameras with one device, it's wireless for transferring to computer, water proof up to 60m. It's even got an upside down mode so you can mount it underneath something and it automatically converts it for you. It's what they used for the Olympics to put straight to tv, the celebs in I'm a celeb all had them on, f1 drivers wear them. And the entry level white edition starts at 200 quid. madhunter
the picture quality on the drift is much better mate, trust me Go Pro invest heavily in their advertising and throw their units for free to all atheletes, only a picture comparison can show you true results who ever advertises the most wins in this day and age,
.philmypower.
You got any footage you've taken with it, stick it on this thread, be interesting to compare them against one and other

madhunter
this is an older one from last month, quality on my pc is much better honestly, it loses quality on youtube when they compress it
humperdingle
I was looking at buying a Gopro, but couldn't justify the £200 price tag... So just ordered a Contour Roam HD for £120 - Should be able to get a few decent shooting vids with that one.
madhunter
order from flebay USA they are much cheaper problem with the contour there is no screen on it, and you really dont know if your shot is right, this is the upside to the drift range you can pick up a drift hd pro for 125 on fleabay USA brand new and it comes with a remote and a mem card Edited December 11, 2012 by madhunter
madhunter
if you have 400£ to spend on a go pro, the top of the range ones, after a fresh look at new models, they are not beatable in quality

It does have a laser on it for lining-up shots, though. I'd never heard of the Drift cameras Contour looks the right shape and size for going on guns and RC cars, etc. Edited December 11, 2012 by humperdingle
madhunter
theres another guy on here who just posted a vid from his gopro black it looks blurry, i've done so much research into this and it seems that the results are not very sharp, strange really,
.philmypower.
Nice vid mad hunter, I wouldn't say the vid is any better or worse than the go pro, I appreciate it looses quality when compressed to youtube but this is the same with the gopro, and lets face it unless making a DVD that's where most of us store our vids we take. It's an interesting debate, I will dog deeper and see what I can find out. Be good to see both working side by side and do a comparison. Must be something out there, ill keep looking
Highlandladdie
i will wack a couple on youtube but in my experiance quality suffers when they compress it give me 10 If that is an issue for you, use vimeo. 60fps is very useful if you want a good slow mo. I use mine on 60fps most of the time. Can't beat the GoPro for durability/quality film balance and such an array of fixtures/accessories.
