I have build two magnets now which are working a treat and have a question, The wiring is different on several of the motors I have so how do I know which colour is the + as there is no red or black.

Does it matter which way round the motor will spin (will it damage the motor) as mine or going anti-clockwise and i have seen others going clockwise.

My latest one is a mark 4 atsra motor and the medium speed (40rpm) I have used yellow as + and brown as -

Any light on the subject would be greatful.

Put some pictures up as not many people have a go at making a rotary!

Depends on how you have fixed the drive part of your machine, if you rely on the nut then anti clock wise will find it coming loose.

The pinewoods run anti clockwise, my home made ones run clockwise….

When making these from scratch is there a right or wrong way direction to wire the motor to the battery as I can make the arms left or rights. I'm guessing that it doesn't matter what way its wired as it won't do damage if wired anti clock or clock.

i coudn,t comment on that bud, never made one i only ever had the one bought rotary for 8 years Edited by yickdaz
