Mr Rizzini
I have build two magnets now which are working a treat and have a question, The wiring is different on several of the motors I have so how do I know which colour is the + as there is no red or black. Does it matter which way round the motor will spin (will it damage the motor) as mine or going anti-clockwise and i have seen others going clockwise. My latest one is a mark 4 atsra motor and the medium speed (40rpm) I have used yellow as + and brown as - Any light on the subject would be greatful. Put some pictures up as not many people have a go at making a rotary! Depends on how you have fixed the drive part of your machine, if you rely on the nut then anti clock wise will find it coming loose. The pinewoods run anti clockwise, my home made ones run clockwise…. TEH
Mr Rizzini
I welded the nut on mine so it won't come loose anyhow, Just wondered would it damage the motor longterm if running in the wrong (if there is a wrong) direction. Will Do a step by step on my next magnet build.

Mr Rizzini
Im currently living in aussie land if that makes a difference to direction lol
chrispti
If mine goes the wrong way, the nut the arms are attached to will undo, and come off. Also the ends of the arms are bent 90 degrees, so the decoy or dead bird will only fit one way round, other wise it will fly backwards. Mr Rizzini
same as on both counts When making these from scratch is there a right or wrong way direction to wire the motor to the battery as I can make the arms left or rights. I'm guessing that it doesn't matter what way its wired as it won't do damage if wired anti clock or clock.

JDog
If you are living in 'Aussie land' you will know that birds fly clockwise in the southern hemisphere whilst in the northern hemisphere they fly anti clockwise.
