sandspider
Why is Will from The Inbetweeners driving your tractor?? Ha! That made me smile. I was watching that last night, classic. On another note, I was looking at tractors on Ebay too, as you do. Don't really have a need for one (yet!), but do want one... As Pavman said, they seem to go for silly money... Gav912
Just how much you need to pay for a second hand one, its mental anyways got lucky in the end so now have my first, a 1986 Case International 685 XL Looks a tidy tractor for its age. Whats it like at starting in the cold as some of those old 85 series ones could be a real pig to start once the temperature dropped! I drive its modern day big brother in my day job, like a space shuttle inside the cab in comparison to yours

Diceman
Back in the summer someone asked me to back one of those up to a trailer. I hopped in and sat there for about 5 minutes poking buttons and pulling levers but nothing happened. I had no idea how to even start the damn thing. It was more comfortable than my car, though. With this crappy wheat harvest selling at £230 a tonne they will be speccing them up with leather seats, tellys and walnut dashboards next year I reckon... lxtav
Dads just shelled out on another Tractor a Case 4240 with loader after we knackered the old Leyland 262 we had been using as a loader tractor to move the hay and haylage we make around. It broke the fan belt and very quickly overheated and looks like it's cracked the cylinder block but thats the risk with old tractors I suppose . He's trading in the Leyland and his old Zetor 7245 which is getting past it for the Case after he spend about a month driving round looking at tractors that he can get in and out off (he has MS so is unsteady on his feet making some tractors nigh on impossible for him to get in an out off). Can't wait for it to arrive so I can have a play with it.
