I was lucky enough to go shooting again today for the first time in over 30 years,

I had lost some sight in my left eye and had called it a day. After many conversations with Fenny he convinced me that I should at least try and shoot Right Handed and he was the man to sort me out.

We set off after Fenny had supplied all the gear I needed including a very nice Remington 1100, bag of Cartridges & Taz the Dog. The first couple of shots at some Pigeon were both 2 & 3 foot behind so it gave me hope that I could compensate for changing from left to right handed. I got better as the morning went on with some gentle coaching.

Fenny drove me round some of his shoots and we saw Partridge, Pheasant, Duck, Rabbit, Muntjac it was like an episode of Autumn Watch. We spent time looking at the wildlife conservation work Fenny had done over the years and his nest box sites for owls & buzzards.

Thanks Fenny & Taz for a great day, and reminding me why I used to go shooting all those years ago and showing me what is possible if pushed. Shooting is about knowing and understanding your environment & what lives in it, only then can you set up a hide in a wood and bag a couple of ton.

I have just been offed a week-ends shooting on the Solway Marsh by another member KEV I, he said " I saw 8,000 Pinks this morning"
