fiiish1987
Hi guys. I've done homebrew for about a year now and i have come up with some pretty good wines and beers lol. However I've always fancied trying mead. I can't find it "on the shelf" and so i decided to turn to homebrew. After a good search of the net i discovered that you can't get homebrew mead kits either. All is not lost though, i've seen some recipies on the net for mead but their mainly complicated or are for vast quantities (i'm no lightweight but theres know way in hell i'm gunna drink 20 gallons of mead in a weekend) ! Can anyone recommend any good mead recipies please? cheers
Hunter
Good luck to you I love making my own drinks, however Im only producing Sloe gin and Sloe vodka, because we have masses of organic, forest Sloe bushes unpicked by anyone but me whilst out hunting

pavman
I used to brew a lot, but at £10 for 3 good bots of wine its just not worth it any more, mrs p still makes cherry brandy, lush
Mungler
I used to do quite a bit, but I developed a rather nasty reaction to the chemical steraliser (on my hands - I didn't drink it). Homebrew is nice though.... MartinCavie's sloe gin makes a very nice choke cleaner for that really hardset difficult to shift to grime. I have also been contacted by Barry Scott who is after the recipe for the new Cillit Bang oven cleaner.
Hunter
I take it you dont like Sloe gin I find Sloe gin deposits a sticky goo everywhere and is not what you would want to clean with. My dad still calls white wine/champagne window cleaner  I also only drink the red stuff <-- MSN picture I made for MSN messenger a long time ago

henry d
vast quantities (i'm no lightweight but theres know way in hell i'm gunna drink 20 gallons of mead in a weekend) ! Can anyone recommend any good mead recipies please? cheers Divide the quantity of ingredients by 20 and guess what ? you`ve got enough for 1 gallon(6 bottles) of mead. Approx. 2lb made up to a gallon will give a nice dry mead.
