Ive been thorugh loads but the admins here at college are blacklisting them as fast as I can find them!! Dibbz :look: (P.S) Proxy servers are web sites that have an internal browser, so that you can bypass blacklists put in place by Rtards sat in the tecchies office wherever you work/play!!! pin
Lame, but that looks like they have banned that site rather than you accessing the net. Its a crappy message and probably some mickysoft proxy thing they are using, the implication is they blocked access to that site because of content on it. Paul in North Lincs.
My IT manager says that our company may be going onto a Proxy Server shortly, which will mean that everything 'us' staff look at on the internet will 'bare scrutiny' to a third party...I think they can even block access to some sites at source..........on another note...If they do go down that route..then ebaying and messaging will be doomed!!!!!!!!!! :look:
pin
Sadly a lot of places have or will be doing this. Glad I run an IT department then, no such danger for me :look:

That`s what our IT have done If they do go down that route..then ebaying and messaging will be doomed!!!!!!!!!! :look: The way ours "banned" E-bay was to limit the band width(?) so it is so slow as to be useless but hey I`m never there so N.A.M.A.W it I`m always here

pin
For my lot fully unrestricted internet access is a must, but for a lot of other businesses it really isn't needed. If I catch one of my lads not using the net for something I would have a reason to get rid, its comical how its the total opposite elsewhere. In my view the banning of internet access, well, lets call it web access for most, is an admission that :- You don't trust your staff You don't trust your staff to not slack off You don't train your staff adequately You don't trust your line managers to get staff to do their jobs You don't believe your managers can get the job done You don't trust your IT staff to ensure the safety of the work network etc etc Its a farce, most companies don't have the first clue and employ under-qualified under-skilled liars to "manage" their IT infrastructure. I have seen CV's from people trying for positions of immense responsibility requiring specific skills, and even when these people know they will come up against time served professionals who know what the score is, they STILL lie and STILL ******** at interview. I have ended interviews after literally nothing more than minutes with these people, wasting my time and theirs. Some of them I wouldn't trust to wire a 13amp plug and not screw it up People like computeach and the rest of them have a lot to answer for. Go on a 5 week "course" and you could easily land yourself a 30k job making mistake after mistake. Rant over :look:
