Dunkield
OK so lets make it date one way or the other. My primary need is to zero my 6.5 with a 1x28 red dot sight, so ideally I would do that at 50 yards - if I can't do that (and I only have that weekend to get it done!) I will have to try and do it at 100yards, which will be fun :look: I still have some cheap 'ish ammo left over from August so I will bring the .223 along as well. I only need half a day, is that going to OK with you boys? The morning is best for me but I can shift to the afternoon if that is what you would prefer? Also let me know if you want 200yrds as well as 100yrds. I will need to get this sorted today or over the weekend as I am on a training course (Microsoft Vista - lucky me, not) first half of next week and then in Scotland stalking (bit more like it!) for the back half. pin
4th looks fine to me. Being a total Bisley newb I can get myself there no problem, what might I want to bring with me or have done before I come down?
Dunkield
Lots of money and warm dry clothes More seriously. Ear defenders, waterproofs, walkie talkies if you have any (they say they provide them but never do) and a sense of humour may come in handy :look: We need some people with guns as well, they could come in handy, or they may be a lot of standing around talking b/lox and not much else . . sussex lad
I should be up for that Kyle, Will the AR be ready by then?
dunganick
i may try and make this, although not really sure what im doing untill the week before. So will play it by ear. I might suggest that people could just book ranges if they want them, as i suspect 1x short siberia might be a bit limiting. (also try and book covered points)
rarms
>Will the AR be ready by then? Probably not Will bring the pink ****** though Last time I was on siberia, the 100yrd has been changed so you can only get two peopl on shooting at the same time! (also try and book covered points) Yup, as you know all to well Nick, we need to get a feel for numbers of guns before booking any more lanes SL, AS I will be dissapearing for a while can you keep an eye on this and we get a few more guns get another lane booked? I will call the range office in the morning and see if covered points are available, we will be able to stay dry but it limits us to bench shooting not prone. rarms
I hope it is a nice sized dot on your red dot? I have an Aimpoint and I would think at 100yrds the dot would cover a zero the size of the target board! I assume it is for driven something? (6.5 is a bit small for boar no?) I know Ive, this isn't a full blown Bisley do, we can sort one of those out in August, I am going down anyway that weekend so I just wondered if anyone else was up for it. I zero at 100 for stalking with the scope, but I need to get this red on the gun that weekend ready for driven boar, the week after, which I have been told will be between 50 to 100 yards max. As it has no magnification anything beyond that would be a bit of guess work.

I have an Aimpoint and I would think at 100yrds the dot would cover a zero the size of the target board! I assume it is for driven something? (6.5 is a bit small for boar no?) It is quoted as 6 MOA so it will be a big old blob at 100, hence my preference for getting onto a 50yard range. I may be able to swing that before the 4th, but time is against me/us as I need the S&B on for next weekend. It's boar, and some who have never shot any say you need a cannon, some one here who have shot plenty say 6.5mm is ample. I have never done it so I have listened to those who have, we will find out one way or the other, 'cos I am not buying a .270/30-06 just for a weeks trip! The bloke who is taking us has been doing it for years and he is more than happy with 6.5mm and told me not to take my shotgun, which was my first choice. rarms
Are you sure 6.5 is legal for boar for wherever you are going? I thought most places had a .270 min? I assume it is not dorset

Dunkield
and i suppose you want a lift too. No problem Think i'm gonna book a 200 aswell "JUST FOR ME" Good man I will keep an eye out over my right shoulder then EDIT: I just called the range office and all the benches are already booked, as I am on lane 7, I might pack a tin hat If we get more guns we may need another 100 yard point, but they are 30 quid a pop so we need to make sure we make they most of it.
