cockercas
As i was on the way home i passed a woman on the slip road and she had run out of petrol 100 yards from the petrol staion. She had no money on her and i didnt either but i said id tow her out of the fast traffic. Looked under the car. No tie down point ect to strap to. Looked in the boot/spare wheel no tow eye. Couldnt push as it was up hill. So what could you strap to in that situation to go 100 yards to safety?. Everthing under the car was behind plastic. Edit. Yes she was pretty fit for an older woman. WelshLamb
Darwin Award. If she's that stupid to drive the car on fumes, without carrying cash or a towing eye then it's her own fault!

Dr_evil
simple enough, saw a citroen c2 pushing an audi S5 up a hill in the snow, butt up the bumpers on your and hers and then push slowly! also check the boot lid or side compartments for the towing eyes………or do what I do and keep a jerry can in the rear and know how many miles you can get out of your reserve tank

Nothing. The towing eye is the only place you can safely pull from on most modern cars, anything else and you are likely to twist a suspension component, catch plastic trim with the rope etc. If they don't know where to pull from, and don't have the manual to read, leave them. If you try to fix a rope somewhere else, take it steady just to get off the road and the bumper falls off, or something goes wrong (the next day they'll find a scratch/problem of some kind) then the next thing you know they're claiming money off you for damage to their car. There are times when it's not possible to help.

Darwin +1 phone 101 or 999 if obstruction presents a clear and present danger. Dont get involved for your own safety and safety of others. or , If can be done safely : Roll it backwards onto verge clear of traffic lane /slip road (as car facing uphill) , direct occupant/s to place of safety (or services safely ,- as said svces 100 yds) out of harms way, tell them to phone a friend/recovery , (REVERSE ((7383773)) ) - if necessary. Phone emergency svce`s if clear and present danger of vehicles location. So how was she going to get more fuel IF you had towed it into garage i wonder and who cares ?? As Bedwards said , "There are times when it's not possible to help." , , ,,,, and there are times when you just cannot help some people Edited January 29, 2013 by mrwabbits

Dr_evil
Saab should be behind one of the front grille panels, usually the fake one on the drivers side I think. You just unclip the panel and should be in there or was on a few of the ones I've seen
shaun4860
As I posted on another towing topic My front towing point is behind the front offside driving light, you have to remove the light and screw the doofus in (Seat Altea FR) Funnily enough all the other alteas its behind a little pop off cover....but oh no, not mine Edited January 29, 2013 by shaun4860
