Im guessing its a dead bird cradle. The metal wire arms are free to swing, and have crocodile clips on the end that im guessing you clip into the wings.. whats the purpose having the wings movable...on a dead bird..a PW member gave it to me with some old decoys and ive never used itpost-24172-0-01118000-1359741381_thumb.jpg

I`ve got one and I still use it regularly.

The lug underneath the main spar fits into a an upright about 10 inches long which in turn fits into a large plastic spike which you push into the ground.

Place a couple of suitable length rubber bands on the elbows of the main wing spar. Tie a piece of string between the two bottom metal spars. Tie a long cord to the centre of this, run the cord through the guide ring on the main supporting upright (apparently missing.)

Obtain dead pigeon. Break it`s wings if recently killed to over come rigor.Impale the head, under the birds chin, on the large spike, place the dead bird in the cradle and attatch the crocodile clips to the outer part of the birds wing.

Make sure large plastic ground stake is firmly stuck in the ground, run cord back to hide and pull. Birds wings will open. The rubber bands will pull the wings closed. Use occasional flaps or pull in 3 or 4 flap bursts to immitate a landing bird.

It is very effective and, as has already been said, can`t run out of power.
