Actionpigeons
A young lad I have known since he was very young came over today from Cheshire for a little pigeon shooting. I decided to take him over to a block of land I have that has a good number of birds flighting over it, but not a lot of places to set up a hide as its very open. We set up in a ditch right on the flight line and just left of a sitter tree. There is not a lot of food on the land at the min for the pigeons as the farmer has not put Rape in., The farmer has worked a field ready for drilling, so I decided to try and bluff the birds into thinking it had been drilled. I set up a magnet a few decoys, a cpl of floaters and the trusted kite. . We had a good bit of sport and some nice shooting by the end of the day. looking forward to the farmer drilling the fields and we should get some good bags. 03,02,13. JDog
Another excellent flight line foray. I thought of you today when I watched hundreds of birds head off on a flight line that I never knew existed. I suspect that you would have packed up your hide and set up a simple system on the flight line.

Lord Geordie
Very good! One of if not THE best day I had out was in a ditch. Put the deeks out about 20 yards out and actually LAY under a bush. Within 20 mins of the decoys going out the pigeons started to drop into the pattern. It was a bit slow at times but it was an all day event. I ended up with around 37 for 50 and my friend who took 100 carts came home with 82. Was a fab day. I even got a bice sun tan on the top of my head
