Thedeerman
Ok, Ive narrowed my company car choice down to two cars. What would you choose and why? Either - Skoda Yeti 2.0 TDI SE 4x4 or VW Tiguan 2.0 TDI S Bluemotion 2WD
neil3728
If you are happy with either, then have a look at the taxable benefit of each, see if there is a big difference, between the two cars. As the bigger the benefit the more it will cost you personally in tax. Maybe not the best way to look at it but I can't see there been that much difference between the two cars as they are made by in efect the same company. DaveyTed
Do you need 4wd?
Dead-Eyed Duck
I had to make the same decision, and went for the Yeti. Never regretted it - whilst you may not need the 4 wheel drive it is a huge comfort factor. My Yeti has covered just over 100,000 miles, and not missed a beat. bobt
Lad at work ordered a Yeti after waiting 10 months he chose something else, even the 2wd one is heavy on fuel,

I have the 140 hp diesel, and I measure the mpg very carefully. It averages c. 48 mpg driven carefully, and 42-44 mpg knocking about. The waiting list was because they were so good - have a look at the Top Gear test
Goodlittlebitch
I'd go for the yeti. You can get sienna miller in the glove box
HDAV
HAve a look the Qashqai has the CO2 of of tiguan and the 4x4 of the yeti with the best MPG of the 3.....better 0-60 and top speed from a 1.6Dci........oh and good equipment if needed! On paper looks a much better choice! http://www.whatcar.com/Review/EditionCompare?newOrUsed=New&makeId=22922&modelId=23434&editionId=30672&makeId1=25321&modelId1=26725&editionId1=38220&makeId2=15455&modelId2=16458&editionId2=40154 Edited February 4, 2013 by HDAV

I have an X5 at the moment, and the most I ever really do in that is take it across stubbles, I did take it across a very wet field once and got stuck . To be fair to it, the 2WD tractor that tried to pull it out got stuck too, and we needed to get a bigger tractor to pull us out. On paper the Yeti has it, but everyone at work keeps saying that it looks like it shoould have a ramp built into the back to push a wheelchar up. bobt
This is on the trip computer. I tried driving like a granny one afternoon, gentle and slow, it returned 78mpg over 40 miles, the 2 litre engine is well on top of the job, lad at work got the 1.6 diesel and cant get over 50mpg as he has to thrash it. Thedeerman
Well guys, I've ordered the Tiguan. It is cheaper in tax, gets better mpg and looks a lot nicer. Gone for Nimbus grey.
triumphant59
Why would you want what is designed has a 4wd as a 2wd? Surely if 4wd isn't needed you could have had a better specked lower emmision rated vehicle that does more mpg and costs less in cct. For people with disabilities (bad backs etc) they are easier to get in and out of.... Some people just like the shape of vehicles....
