Redgum
Had a few things from US over the years but never really had a problem with customs, yes I have had to pay import duty, vat and parcel force but no major delays. Two weeks ago I bought a Bell and Carlson stock, it was usps tracked, a couple of days state side to get to international hub, was in UK in less than a week. Its been sat in UK customs now for over a week with tracking just saying 'customs clearance. Has anyone else had this experience and is it just a case of sit and wait as can not find a number to contact to check up progress.
Beretta06
The sender or delivery company should be able to provide you contact details for the relevant Clearing House.
al4x
It all depends what carrier brought it over the tracking information usually covers all manner of sins so it may not actually be customs causing the delay. Usually if the paperwork is completed properly it is all a formality as to how much duty gets levied and now its mostly done automatcally, if its miss declared then that can cause problems. First port of call would be the sender and get them to chase from their end, then you need a number for the carrier this end who does the delivery which may well be royal mail / parcelforce. Paxtond
My rcbs charge master took 2 days to get from Idaho USA to the uk customs, it then took 3 weeks to get my heathrow to my house only 30 miles away. Uk customs and parcel force work very slow and are some of the most unhelpful people around

Is there any chance you give me an idea how much import and VAT would be, a PM would be fine.
phaedra1106
Usually around 25-28% of the combined purchase price and shipping costs (that way the thieving %$£*! make more money).
Redgum
USPS have brought it as far as UK customs, they have been pretty good with up to date tracking until this end. Think I will just have to wait.

Olliesims
Same happend with my boyds stock 4 days to get to the uk then 2 weeks at customs, parcelforce will send you a letter asking for you to pay the customs charge before they deliver the item, cost me £26 customs including handling fee, if you put your tracking code into the parcel force tracker it will work there once you see it's been cleared ring parcelforce and ask to pay the charge its quicker than waiting for the letter
