leeboy
I've got a mate who is really keen to buy a logun s16, preferably second hand. He went to the gun shop last weekend and made the inquiry and the reply was leave well alone. he was even told not to bother with a new one. the shop owner said that he had sold 7 sweet 16s and had them all back with faults and unhappy customers. he didn't however say what these faults were, just that he thought the guns were ****. Anyone own/shoot one of these ? are there problems ? Leeboy
SNAKEBITE
There are loads of threads on here going into detailed accounts of the merits and pit falls of the S-16. Have a little search and see what you think. Any questions after that just give a shout.
stubby
we had one as a work gun, and I had always liked the look of them, as a pest control gun, being used for dispatching/culling the odd feral pigeon I think they work well, however I would'ent want to use one on a days shooting as it was bloody heavy
king ratcatcher
I have one, i have the old version i brought of a good m8, there good guns, i just zeroed mine in with accupells actually, and it was hole in hole at 20 yards, no probs, i have shot a few rats, feral pigeons, and magpies with mine, i think its a great gun, only thing is, the seal blew on the bottle but took 2 seconds to change, i personaly think its a pucker gun btw, they do run dangerously close to 12ftlb, mine was actually 11.9 ftlb with aa field , but accupells are 10.8 which i am very happy with, becouse thats all you need

Have a little search and see what you think. Any questions after that just give a shout. I've done a bit of a search and it seems that the problems are associated with the unshrouded barrel version. Doesn't seem to be issues with the mk2 shrouded version, is this the case or should I advise he steer clear ? The weight issue is not a problem, he's a 17 stone big all over bloke and like me prefers a heavier gun. I personally dont really like the 'millitary' style guns and shoot an S410. But he has his heart set on a s16 unless they are deemed as a no no. Leeboy
stoggieman
R/E Logun S16 s I have had one for a while. I bought it to use at work for pest control. My staff like it it is well thought out and the safety system built in makes it safe to carry in a van.It is very acurate and does the job that it was bought for. The main problem people have experienced I feel is down to user error you must read the instructions r/e loading be firm with the bolt and listern for a double click when loading. Use a quality pellet and you wont go far wrong. Mine is the mk2 with the fully shrouded barrel. I have no experience with the mk1. nicknox
Lee, if thats for Bazza, I think he'll be better off with a club with a nail through it!
leeboy
Lee, if thats for Bazza, I think he'll be better off with a club with a nail through it! Nick, I'm inclined to agree !! He'd probably miss with that or hurt himself with it ! I dont fancy trying to carry him back to the car from hole 13 of the golf course ! He rolled his ankle last time we were out and insisted he couldn't get back to the car, I insisted he was going to spend a long cold night on the green ! nicknox
They do need rolling occasionally.
leeboy
They do need rolling occasionally. I'm amazed someone so accident prone managed to make it through life as long as he has. It also amazes me that he thinks a 10 1/2 stone bloke can carry him a mile or more back to the car every time !!
nicknox
thats the weight of 1 of his legs.
andyL herts
I have a s16 shrouded. they are very accurate, and most problems I've had is when someone not used to it picks it up and doesn't load the next pellet in correctly. You have to firmly pull the cocking handle back then push it again firmly home to get it to lock. Once you get used to it you can bang off the 8 shot very rapidly and with good sucess at 25 yrds no problem. Very often the pellet going straight through the original hole. I see that LOGUN have changed the manual so if it does jam the magazine etc due to badly load pellet they tell you how to remove the barrel etc. This only takes a few minutes. Downside being you then have to spend a short time resighting it. I think they would be an ideal weapon for the lastest speed field taget competitions if that was your thing. One thing LOGUN should have done is sort out the air cyclinder as a stock. It needs more shape and this would also improve the balance. It does all sound a bit fiddly, dont know if I'd have the patience myself. I think I'll just let him read the responses to this thread and let him make his own mind up. Thanks for the input fellas. Lord Geordie
I owned one of these for over a YEAR and the MK1 model at that. I put around 1000 shots through it with NO trouble what so ever (well other than a few bottle seals) The main trouble people had was jams. Most were caused by people not closing the bolt fully. There WERE a few with leaks too but not mine. It was accurate and spot on power wise also. As for weight it never stopped me carrying it all day On the whole it was a nice rifle and the Warranty covered any flaws anyway. Good rifles for money i would point at Air Arms Daystate RWS BSA and even the Falcons are nice for the money. Also the Career is a nice rifle but again a bit weighty LG
P03
As you can see from my piccy I own an S16S. As long as you read the manual carefully, and take adequate care when loading, they are excellent rifles. I have had 1 leaking seal which Logun fixed free of charge and I had the rifle back in less than a week. IMHO air rifles don't get much better, they have an excellent shot per charge rate (about 150 in .22) and their accuracy is second to none. They are heavy but fit a bipod and that just adds to their stability.
Cyber
Hi everyone!! just thought i'd post about this as i actually went into a gun shop yesterday adamant with getting a Logun S-16 but was told by the owner that he has had to send alot of them back due to faults, especially with leaks. I ended up leaving the shop with a Daystate X2 Sport and it is FANTASTIC!! I got an AGS scope with it aswell. its 4-16x50 and finishes the setup nicely! again, it is abit of a heavy rifle. If your friend is adamant on getting a ''military style'' rifle then fair enough but I would definately reccomend the Daystate if he can afford it as i zeroed the scope at 30 yards at the shops range yesterday and was hitting the same pellet 8 times outta 10. It really is a work of art to look at aswell!!!!! Anyway, thats just my 2 cents!! Happy New Year Everyone!!!!!
