adam f
Any advice on these? I've got a set of moulded in ear plugs but I thought I'd set a set of the muff type ones with the electronic protection for the winter and as a spare set. I don't really want to spend £100+ on Sordins etc so are the cheaper ones any good? If so which ones?
Gozzy
I'm going the opposite way too you it seems , I have the electronic can type ear defenders and find they are too dam hot in warm weather and some times slip fown a tad and tap on stock and am switching to passive non electronic moulded in ear protection
Dicky Knee
I use Howard Leight Impact Sport which I find comfy and relatively slim line. I bought mine in a twin pack from the US on Fleabay for about £85 posted so maybe you can split the pack with a mate.
UGM
Peltor Sportac on EBay and the agents website for £89.50 i noticed last week. But am thinking to get the moulded in ear ones myself. Used to wear cans in work and found them as the previous guy says.
TbirdX
I've been using these for around a year, probably longer, and find them ok. They are quite...er...chunky so depending on your gun fit, mount etc, they may hit the stock but that doesn't happen to me. Work quite well but I do get that odd buzzing sound you get when you have a mobile too near your radio sometimes. usually when i have my mobile in my pocket. It just reminds me to switch it off. http://www.toolstation.com/shop/Workwear/Face%20&%20Ear%20Protection/Electronic%20Ear%20Defenders/d70/sd520/p83831 I paid about £14 when I bought my set and kept thinking I'd get some Howard Leights at some point but I have to say after trying some on at the shooting show, i didn't think they were as comfy as this current set. Just imho of course.

I paid approx £56.00 for mine from a UK based company.
poorpeet
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Caldwell-Slim-Electronic-Ear-Defenders-Muffs-Clay-Pigeon-Shooting-Hunting-Green-/400329116805?pt=UK_SportingGoods_Hunting_ShootingSports_ET&hash=item5d35798c85 I have had a set of these for the last couple of years. Work really well & are slim so don't clout the stock. the couple of AAA batterys last months. Got good reviews in the States so dived in & got some. No regrets so far & if they die tomorrow for that money it's not the end of the world.
