  1. Welcome from North Down area.
  2. This is the post I'd agree most with. The hot tub will be approx 8kw, lighting and decking will add another 0.5kw. Then you might add on something else. If you put on a double socket you might end up operating anything up to a further 3kw. A power washer for example will be about 1.5kw. You should be looking for a minimum of 10mm3 but personally for that distance and for my own peace of mind I'd be going for 16mm3 which will cover you for every possibility. The electrician should know all this if they're any good. Just let them give you a price for both sizes of cable and see the cost difference.
  3. Good post. The bit about the brakes is especially true, also if taking off from a hill and on other occasions they can slide backwards.
  4. Agree with this. Don't know much about the Crafter engines but the merc engines are bombproof. And have been about for a number of years to prove their reliability.
  5. Agree Yodel are bad. TNT are very good.
  6. I applied for mine and from start to finish was 4 weeks 6days. A mates Mrs put in for hers 5 days after me. I've had my licence 5 weeks and 2 days now, she still hasn't got hers. Same town and FEO too.

    Sicily

Been to Italy over a dozen times but never to Sicily. Being touristy its likely expensive.
  8. I literally touched a car in front back in June 2011. A full car too. The total amount of damage to my vehicle was a hairline width about 1.5cm long of their paint on my number plate and a little scuff on their bumper and the screw hole of their number plate had cracked. I got a letter from their solicitor. £7,500 each for the 2 adults and £5,000 each for the 2 kids, 1 was a young baby that was in a huge car seat and did not even wake up. Think of you car rolling forward a foot from being stationary into the car in front type of impact. Still unsettled but £25,000 I thought was outrageous. When I notified my insurance company they wanted me to take my vehicle to get inspected to assess the damage and I was like "There is none" The girl on the phone could not understand how there was no damage, I had to take photos of the front and had to zoom in on the hairline of paint it was so small. She phoned me after I had emailed them and said that AXA would be fighting any and all personal injury claims. I know in mid November 2012 that it was still being dealt with by solicitors as the solicitor AXA are using emailed me that he would be in contact if necessary. Though have not heard anymore about it.

  12. Class, the big kid in me would love to do that on a few of my neighbours lol
  13. It doesn't matter how old the debt is, but if there has been no contact between Person A and the finance company or any debt collectors working for them and no payments made or agreed to be made in 6 years or more the debt becomes statute barred. I had a few hundred pound debt with HBOS from my late teens(£30 debt and about £250 fees)and no contact for over 12 years then got a phone message left and checked the number and found it was a company that buys old debt in bulk for peanuts from these companies when I googled the Internet. So I went and checked online searching for debt older than 6 years will give you explanations. A few days later they phoned and caught me off guard. I said that debts too old and doesn't have to be paid. I said I can't recall the term exactly. The person said well you need to tell me the exact term. So I went off searched it and rang back. Told them the debt was statute barred and they said that I wouldn't hear anymore and I haven't. Although they are well aware the debt is statute barred they are hoping you don't know. And once you start discussing or admit the debt is yours then you need to pay it. These companies buy the debts for very little. Possibly paying £100 for £1000 of debt. But for every £1000 they spend on £10,000 of debt they might get £2,000 to £3,000 back. The only debt that cannot be statute barred is to HMRC. For me my address did not change. For person A though you mention courts so that could be a CCJ but if it was then its likely to have been on his credit file. Person A needs to find out if the letters or phonecalls are coming from the finance company or from a debt collection company. Until then tell them do not admit liability to pay or enter into discussions until they know who exactly is pursuing them for the debt owed and if there actually is a court order or not. The thing that would get me is that all the credit reference agencies will have every detail of past addresses, every bank account, census form, financial connection and credit agreement that Person A has ever had all on file. So it is very simple for any finance company or debt collection agency to find you. It would be different if Person A had gone off the radar and not had any bank account, voted, had a mortgage etc etc. This would lead me to suspect its likely to be a debt collection agency that has bought the debt cheap from the original finance company.
  14. Thanks mate. I will have a look, £90 seems great especially when you can upgrade later on. Though TBH I couldn't tell much difference listening to the sound clips on their website. But I would assume it will be a difficult thing to replicate using a microphone to record.
  15. Deerhunter do. Look at Montana model. They actually go up to 52in jackets and 50in trousers
  16. You are supposed to tell them of any and all alterations to a vehicle. The tuning boxes are easily removed. A red and black power cable to the battery. And the existing connection to the fuel pump/rail connects to the box and then and cable comes from the box and screws into where the original plug went. Can remove in 5-10 mins. Whereas a remap is permanently written to your ECU and remains there until it is replaced with original or altered remap. So it could be discovered IF the insurance company checked. The likelihood of them checking is slim unless it was a high performance car. I have never heard of it being checked on here in Norn Iron. The box however could easily be found if you didn't remove it. If you were in an accident and the bonnet is damaged then you couldn't get in to remove. Plus any witnesses would see you removing it. If I was going to do either it would be a remap. Inconspicuous and only because my car us out of warranty now. A remap will alter standard settings so is likely to be discovered if you took a car to the dealership to go in the computer for diagnostics as the readings would not match the factory settings. On a Vx Astra or Vectra CDti 150Bhp you can put them to 200Bhp just by a remap of £250-£300 I looked into getting one myself but as HID realky onky ever drives it I never bothered.
  17. Lol same happens in my house too
  18. In NI here myself. My FEO asked who I got guns from, any convictions, what purpose for guns was, any health issues Those were already on the application form and answered. On top if that she asked me who else lived in house, ages of my kids, did I have an alarm, security lights or a dog. That was about it tbh. She was in and out within 7 or 8 minutes total. Which including her checking gunsafe and counting spaces in it.
  19. It's a DTUK box that I had and as I said I got a saving on fuel. Driving the same speeds. But if I booted it then of course the additional power means additional fuel consumption. But not exactly crazy an extra 1 or 2 miles less per gallon. The saving when driving normally more than made up for it. I know a pile of guys that had the DTUK box in particular and even the ones who went for out and out power were impressed by the small increase in fuel usage. I went for the balanced setting of both more power and better MPG. I drive 80,000 miles a year so wouldn't be looking to sacrifice MPG at all A guy I work with got his Astravan remapped a few months ago and is getting much better mpg and power.
  20. And a remap is done to what? Electronic Control Unit (ECU). So falls into the category of auto electricians or any mechanic in general. Haven't had a remap but did have a tuning box in a VW Transporter. Better MPG by about 4-5mpg, smoother to drive, no dead spots and certainly quicker. Like anything though if you drive hard they will use more fuel. Drive easy and they will save a bit of fuel. There's a guy in Durham I got mine from Diesel tuning UK. They have different boxes for different vehicles and each box has 5 options depending on if you want only power or only fuel saving or anywhere in between.
  21. Blanket is only the nickname given by the media is it not? Real name is Prince Michael Jackson II Which is strange since the oldest son is Michael Joseph Jackson Jnr (Prince) is the nickname. Then again he even gave Paris the middle name Michael. Blanket looks like an Indian/Pakistani girl which is possibly from the surrogate mother.
  22. I do it 5 nights a week mate. 1600 miles every week lol. Only been out shooting clays using friends shotguns, still waiting my licence to arrive (home visit done last week) But I have a permission on the Newry side of Downpatrick and I know its very muddy. Through gateways it would be up over the top of your wellies easily. Not much better up my way either.
  23. I got my home visit on Friday. 3 weeks 1 day after sending away application. FEO told me to expect my licence in the post within 2-3 weeks maximum any longer and give her a ring. Then today (Thursday) she phoned 1 of my referee's to check if I was suitable to own a shotgun. Didn't phone the other referee though.
