scotslad
Is ther no big sawmills near penerith area? I thought sheffields timber had a big 1 down there somewhere, just got to phone round fencing suppliers, look yell pages or a farming mag/cumberland news Otherwise u could try either hunter wilson near to Gretna, or Creca sawmill, Annan (usually not bad on price for a small sawmill) or the big boys are Smiths from Tongland, Kirkcudbright or possibly Murray's at Beatock There is also 1 or 2 about longtown (think 1 is tweddles) Timber is dear and esp when up to 8ft posts, didn't know u got half rounds at that length but there **** and waste of moneyat 5ft never mind 8ft. U could try using smaller posts and nailing rail extensions up them.
cumbrian top shot
Thanks Scotslad think I'll try a few of the sawmills just over the border, also think sheffields just do the timber haulage and sub contract out felling don't think they have a mill but I might be wrong. I will certainly be ringing around and see what comes up, thanks again.

Alycidon
http://www.woodensupplies.co.uk/contacts/ These are local to me, they do all there own crerosoting ( this is vital), just tell them what you want, they have most sizes in stock. Why do you want fully rounded, we use half round then nail a rail to them. A

We use either creca or the one at the rigg but creca will do you a deal if you buy everything from them Edited February 22, 2013 by part timer

Scully
There are quite a few sawmills around Penrith and the Eden Valley, which will be cheaper than the average agricultural outlet.Do you know any farmers who could buy them for you who are eligible for discount? There are timber yards in Kings Meaburn,Penrith,Appleby,Kirkby Stephen and Lowther. There will be many more.
