I'm glad to hear you do have a scale but the fact is that most times someone comes on to a forum asking what bush to use it's because they're trying to reload cartridges without one which is madness by any measure.

I have had good success using 24grains of vectan A1 with a B&P Z21and 32grams of no6 with impressive kills out to good ranges.

Thanks very much for this, its like one of the loads I have but it was 23grains with the recomendation it was abit light on powder!!

I found the bushing's charts are not always accurate so i have always dropped some and weighed it to check, but its a bloody fiddle with the lee, I have an adjustable charge bar that can be dialed in on the mec, but thats set up for 3" and i'm not fiddling about with that!

first of all, thats the wrong attitude here. Andy here has been dishing out good advice here for ages, and i`d like to point out that, someone asking for bushing size on `tintnet automaticly makes us competent reloaders think "aye- up". all us reloaders know that the bushingcharts are wrong. i have 2 charts published, one by the machine manufacturer, one by the powder company, and another outdated one which i dont count, because its too funny. none of the bushing charts are correct. infact due to the exellent powders out today, and the heavyer densitys, it is quite concievable to be 3 grains out. hardly ideal.

2 years ago i bought a whole load of reloading gear, 2nd hand, most of the bushing were drilled, the lead bar for 24g was dropping 1oz.. so please take the advice of a scale litterally.

This is a fantastic resource, and i hope you stick around. but drop the attitude. there are some communication issues with titnternet, as sarcasm and wit, can be very much misread.

Even when you have your setup running what you think is the correct charge I STILL drop a charge and weigh it now and then to make sure I don't end up with an over charge.

My bushing chart shows some powders but not all. I had to play about to find the best bush for ND28 which has a slight variation between drops. If your bushing drops heavy on both shot AND powder then the pressure will be pushed up and possibly beyond the safe levels if your working close to the high end. It's ALWAYS worth checking your charges before and even durin your reloading episode. That way if you need to make an alteration you do so without having made a huge run.

I agree with this, I tend to have my scale handy and drop every tenth charge into it to check that all is well. Only takes a few seconds and gives you peace of mind.

I actually get worse than this, when I am reloading non toxic I spot check my powder that i have hand weighed but with a different scale lol, justto check the firstscale is acurrate, abit ott but you never know. I have a rcbs and a hornady both about 500 grain but i would like to sell the hornady eventually and get a 1010 rcbs so i can weigh non toxic shot!

weigh 2 sets of 16grams for 32g shot (for instance).
