Breastman
I know a guy that works in an RFD near me that has a .38/.357 Marlin on his FAC for fox but its the only suitable rifle he has for it, everything else is .308 or bigger. Don't think you've got a cat in hells chance if you've already got a .22-
Mikaveli
I've got one - just bought it Saturday actually. I only use it for target shooting though, so gallery rifle comps was my justification.

Being chambered for both .38 Special and .357 Magnum gives you the flexibility to use ammunition between 200 and 500+ ft. lbs of muzzle energy. Using 38 Special, you get about a 7" drop at 100m - so your limited to about 50m for foxes etc. They're not massively more powerful than .22 LR, so may be ok for rabbits? In .357 guise, you could have up to 550 ft. lbs, ideal for longer range foxes etc.
highseas
ive got a change of adress to do so i will speak to my fao and see i would use it for fox and rabbits. i beleve they are roe deer leagle too are they? if so then it would be a very good woodland gun,
redcoat
The .357 is not legal for Roe, but it is technically legal for the small deer species Muntjac etc. I have used a 38/.357 for several years, mostly for RTA,s Humane dispatch work and can honestly say I love the calibre I have shot everything from pigs, Roe, Muntjac, fallow and cattle beasts. You are quite right in saying it would make a good woodland gun, in the states it is widely used. I would say though in my experience, the more powerful .357 158 grn jacketed flatpoints are actually too much for our small deer species. Big holes! Low recoil, .38 special rounds means lots of practise and lots of practise means more confidence and better shot placement. Kind Regards Redcoat
