TJ91
I recently started using th fuds again, with more success than last summer. I don't seem to see much difference between days with FUDS and days with shells. How are you with fuds getting on? Better or worse or no different from plastic shells or full body deeks? Stovepipe
I think flocked shells are better than anything to be honest.
Bluebarrels
Prefer FB deeks,or shells to be honest I had 12x crow and 12x pigeon FUDS,too long to set up and not much cop in my opinion,so I sold them on BB Edited March 29, 2013 by Bluebarrels
pboro shot
they just carry easier ,first thing i did was get rid of the silly red spikes far to short etc,i use both shells and fuds both work the same
Mr pigeon
Been struggling on the rape like most people. Convinced that it was flock numbers that would pull them in I purchased 48 fuds. Left my shell decks at home. Been out with the fuds twice and both days have seen me getting far more action than normal. I use 3 flappers and 3 floaters so am not worried about lack of movement. Thought the red spike maybe an issue but it doesn't put the pigeons off I don't think. May look to give them a slight adaption though, bit of a pain for height of deek and to push into the ground with current spike setup. Cosd
I cut off the red spike and now have various length rods. Love the FUD's. Work very well in all conditions. I do also have flocked shells but I ten d to prefer the FUD's. admittedly a little more diddly to put up. I cut off the red spike and now have various length rods. Love the FUD's. chrispti
Flocked shells on spring sticks for me. Dead birds added to the pattern as I shoot them. Edited March 30, 2013 by chrispti
.philmypower.
I'm another vote for the fuds, they do take longer to set up but worth it IMO. I also use them on the geese, and have had great results

THE AD
I like the fuds, don't seem to be much difference in putting a fud out to putting full bodied or shell on plastic pegs. And the birds decoy just the same so it's whatever floats your boat. deny essex
I prefer FUDs after taking the near useless red steelwork off and adapting my own pegs to fit , they work well with my dippas too. A big plus for me is the weight and the way they pack down so well, put them out in position stand back and they look well good, had birds drop right beside them with no problem, when birds were about and I was out that is. here iam
I like your ideas lads with the sticks ,but they really dont need the movement as it says on the instructions they work on photo 3 d realism,if the birds are their they will come in i have had buzzards and falcon s having a go at em also red kites looking confused
hedd-wyn
I get along fine with my crow FUDS (although mixed with full bodied decoys)
chrispti
Movement is the key fundamental as to why things are seen. I found the fudds, pegged down in 3"+ high rape, next to usless. The decoys need to be seen easily and adding movement where possible, will increase the chances of passing birds seeing the pattern. Having said that, flappers and rotaries positioned correctly will draw the majority of birds in for a closer look. Combined the above with some good reconnaissance and a decent hide (to conceal your movement) is the perfect recipe for a red letter day.
