kippylawkid
Having been given a surprise day pass by my better half, I wasn't going to argue and was out early doors looking for a field. I was beaten to Plan A by another decoyer and had resigned myself to chasing them on the rape when I spotted a line towards a sewn bean field on my patch, The binos revealed 500+ feeding with a strong line joining them. After a call to my pal the keeper I was in. Thankfully I was able to drive right to my chosen spot, out of the biting wind. Unloaded and set up with flapper and 9 dead birds for 10am. The birds came all day without ever being suicidal to the decoys, despite quite a bit of tweaking. Forcing me to take most shots at 35-45 yard left to right crossers. Fantastic sport in a strong northerly breeze. Went to pick up at 5pm and thought I might pick half a dozen hard hits from a rough ditch. The dog excelled by picking 14. Total bag 129, from a shedload of cartridges. Happy days. Also, Very impressed with the Eley 32g 6.5 pigeon shells.
paul1989
Sounds good, where in Northumberland may I ask? Cheers Paul
JDog
Very good shooting. A biting wind in Northumberland really is a cold one.
kippylawkid
Sounds good, where in Northumberland may I ask? Cheers Paul I shoot on a few farms and estates north of Alnwick. Today I was shooting on a farm that I am member of a syndicate, so the keeper is a legend and keeps it for members/locals. Very good shooting. A biting wind in Northumberland really is a cold one. Proper Baltic JDog. I don't think I could have stood a day in the open. Hide was well sheltered.

kippylawkid
fantastic day any pics or pic I took a couple of dodgy ones in the hide on my iphone but the light wasn't helpful and a couple of some of the bag laid out cooling in mygarden. They aren't the best but I'll see if I can do anthing with them.
kippylawkid
There you go. Not the best but you can just make out my flapper and decoys. Field grass margin was about 10 yards so it shows how far out the decoys were.
Blackpowder
Good show Dave, still trying to catch up with them here although one of my farms is having three pea fields in a few weeks. Blackpowder
