team tractor
No pics but I'm we Chuffed how the cz hmr shoots . I shot 2 rabbits tonight out of 2 shots at 70 yards and 8 yards lol but I can't believe how flat it shoots . It shot an inch low at 8 yards and perfect at 70yards from a 100yard zero . One other thing , I can't believe how little was left of their heads
jonnys
I have a CZ American 17 HMR and bought it only a few months ago. I agree with you it's an awesome piece of kit, I have shot rabbits out to 150 yards without too much problem - I guess I may miss 1 out of 3 at that range. Anything sub 100 yards is an absolute gonna and cannot remember missing in my month or so. I did have a bit of trouble zeroing in the rifle when I first got it, and although I bought it brand new I realised that the free floating barrel wasn;t free floating and was actually touching the stock - this really threw the zero off, so just one to watch. Great guns, cannot see why anyone would use a .22 these days, the 17 shoots so flat and makes a decent kill. I know people say they are noisey and the ammo is expensive, but quite frankly I don't find either of those issues a problem, I only shoot recreationally so don;t get thru that many round, and so what if they make a bit of noise, the rabbits tend to just look up, and then carrying on feeding! Good luck with it mate, enjoy!
Thunderbird
I shot eight rabbits in an hour last night with my CZ 452 hmr. Ranges were 100 yards, with three killed about about 120. I noticed no difference between the impact points. It's zeroed at 100, more or less. I have a Boyds thumbhole stock on it and a bipod and (for me) that makes a difference. al4x
the 8 yard ones are easier to miss, don't forget the distance between the scope cross hairs and bore means the impact point is well low at that range
Thunderbird
I just checked, furthest was 140!

Normally on air rifles 55 yards and 8 yards are the same impact if zero is 30 yards but this was only an inch low fantastic
Frenchieboy
I take it that you are well impressed with your HMR then! There are times that I really regret selling mine, the .222 does a what the HMR will do to rabbits but with a lot more damage Well done. Now get out again and enjoy yourself!
