unclestuffy
Yes, i'd assumed the 'shed' was a large storage or workshop arrangement.... Not a 'garden' shed. Our neighbour has one of those full of racing pigeons - garden shed. Pigeons in factories and warehousing are a really nuisance and people always complain about them

unapalomablanca
No leave em alone you might get a ricochet and hit someone. Leave it to the fields. I remember a kid at school when i was 13 coming in all distraught, his old man had bought him a .22 and he had shot 8 blackbirds the same day. It's not the same when they are sitting ducks. chrispti
But when it comes down to it, it's your work's decision. If I was asked to for the right reasons, i'd have no problems with it.Its only his works decision if other appropriate methods of resolving the problem, ie, scaring, destroying the nest, bird proofing etc, are ineffective or impracticable. garden gun
Leave be. You have no reason under the GL to shoot them. We have a pair knocking around the garden and they are safe until they commit some sin of ommission or commission that is sufficent reason to shoot. Corvids are an entirely different matter. Protecting songbird nests and contents is a real protection job.
stuartc44
I was under the impression it was illegal to disturb nesting birds with rather large fines involved, irespective of species.

stuartc44
Sorry, I didn't realise it was to prevent serious damage to livestock, foodstuffs or spread of disease. Was just described as a 'big shed', no indication as to waht was being stored in it.
