bunny_blaster
After the successful night with camokid I headed back out to the same farm where Andy had shot the first two foxes. As soon as I got into the bottom field where the second fox was shot I spotted another sniffing the area where Andy dropped the vixen. I got got the rifle up on the quad sticks and down it went. Another vixen. I've just looked at the pic but its no good so wont bother posting it. I headed back out yesterday evening to try catch up on a fox I'd spotted whilst out looking for pigeons a few weeks ago. I waited on the field I'd spotted it on but after an hour nothing had showed so I walked across the field to have a look at some meadows. I got over the gate and had a scan with the bins, nothing was moving but then a fox came through the hedge and headed towards me. I soon realised I'd left my sticks at the gate so a quick dash back and the rifle was ready. The fox had spotted me and was making its way back towards the hedge. I gave a couple of squeaks and it stopped and turned broad side, number one down. A nice big dog that was very silvery in colour. I headed home after that fox had some dinner and grabbed the NM800. It was now dark so I went to another farm for a quick scan with the lamp. I saw nothing for field after field so I went to the top end of the farm and parked up in the Landy. After calling for 10 mins a fox appeared from a small copse. It ran straight for the truck so I grabbed the rifle and turned the NM on. The fox was about 35 yards away and just stood there. I had to shoot it left handed but it dropped on the spot. I carried on called in the same spot and 5 mins later another set of eyes where looking my direction. I called it in from around 150 yards and it came in like a steam train, I got the rifle ready and turned the NM on. This one again was 35 yards from the truck and only 10 meters from the other one. Again a left handed shot and it dropped where it stood. I stayed in the same spot for another few minutes but nothing showed so I went to pick the two foxes up. A pair of good conditioned dogs of a decent size. Cheers Ben

Frenchieboy
Nive result Ben, keep it up. It's a bit of a bu**er when you forget to pick your sticks up after going through a gate or climbing over a fence isn't it - And don't worry, I should think that we have all done it at some time or other!
