BSA-airgunner
I spoke to me shoot mate lucky-shot yesterday about having a swift fifty clays and he said not sure and he would prefer an hour or four on one of our shoots....so this morning not feeling great (bad back) and ruff night about ten I thought don't waste the day so gear gun and carts and away....I got set up and had 4 down in 15 mins..so I phoned lucky-shot told him that its looking good about an hour later he arrived I had 15 down by then...and between us we had a total of 40 the best we have done . Both of us putting in some storming shots with clear pigeon 30g 6s......we lost 12 as the breeze and the high birds were blown past us into bramble infested scrub...packed in before 5 and when we left at the top of the field we were in a further 100 pigeons hard on the feed.....so keep an eye on the drilled barley and oats this field was drilled yesterday....we might pop back tomorrow but only spur of the moment... BSA-airgunner
Cheers Swiss.Tony and Eccles. We need to do some thing to keep the birds from settling up the top its a boundary on to a lane so I might give plastic bags on sticks ago .. BSA-airgunner
Good effort. Didn't you have a dog with you? Yes well sort of around 2pm my wife phones to see how were getting on and did I want anything bought down as she was going to walk the dog (thomas) so she popped down and we stopped shooting as thomas is gun shy....he has never retreaved a bird .tenis balls or footballs no problem he has a big mouth...so were chatting and just to see i cast a bird and told him to fetch..he ran to the bird and didnt seem to take to the feather in the mouth feel . With in ten minutes hes fetching like a champ but just one particular bird the one he made wet with dribble. Laugh he's bloody hopeless but 10/10 for effort.. JDog
Very amusing. I must say I quite like the look of Thomas even if he is no good at retrieving.
