njc110381
I've just bought myself one of these things to put inside my cabinet. Is it ok to leave the door open when you take the gun out, or do you think it will reduce its effective lifespan to have it left out in the open for too long? karl h
would not of thought it makes that much difference mate i have put 2 in my cabinet just to be over cautious
pin
Won't make any odds really, worth checking the size of your cabinet against the blarb on the back of the pack - some of the larger cabinets would need two of these anyway
njc110381
It's only a small 3 gun cabinet. About 8" square by 5 ft high. It says on the pack that it is good up to 3.5 cu ft. They had them for £3 in countrywide, so I grabbed one.
pin
Oh aye fine for that size, anything much bigger than 5 gun shotty cabs would more than likely need 2..
lurcherboy
Worth their wait in gold mate  LB
njc110381
I figured that £3 was money well spent if it makes the £1000+ toy look good for a few extra years!
beatingisbest
im going to need one of these any day now, have a 7 gun extra deep do you lot think i might possibly need 2?
njc110381
From what's been said on here, one wouldn't be enough. For what they cost, get two to be safe
Lord Geordie
Call me a cheapskate but I use those little bags of Silca Crystals that comes with most electrical goods they work very well at absorbing moisture and keeping the cabinet dry  LG
njc110381
I've heard that you need to be careful with those things. Too little moisture can cause your wood to crack in extreme cases! I'm no expert, but I've always avoided them just in case
the last engineer
bought a bunch for the machine cabinets here, encased tin around 5"x3"x1" they also have a visual colour change indicator to say when they are saturated, put in oven for 30 mins or so high and good to go again, have 8 in my gun room all working great.
